This knife is part of my fall season batch. The handle is made from stabilized maple burl and has black G10 pins and is secured with West Systems Epoxy. The pattern on the handle almost resembles bone marrow that is drying out. I think it looks pretty cool. The blade is made from kiln treated 80CrV2. My intent with this knife was to make it look used like an heirloom but not "rustic", I achieved this by treating the steel with ferric chloride, black oxide, and flash rust and sanding with different grit sandpapers between applications as well as developing use patterns by cutting into hardwood. The spine however has a clean black oxide finish to provide an interesting contrast. The overall length of this blade is 9 inches from the back of the handle to the tip. This knife will be oiled with 3-IN-ONE and sharpened prior to shipping.
